Hi, my name is Fred. I have taught math and statistics at Grossmont College for over three years and have tutored math at Grossmont College for nine years. I have enjoyed an uncommon success with my students, both in the classroom and in tutoring sessions.

...I have lectured in statistics at all undergraduate levels and in industry. I try to coach students on how to exercise what they know or at least have studied, in order to learn how to learn what they are studying next; rather than repeat what is in the texts and lectures, and online. I emphasize to drill to mastery after achieving understanding, and as a way to deepen understanding.

I graduated with Honors from high school, where I had a 4.105 GPA and was ranked 33 out of 565 graduating students. In high school, I passed both English AP exams and scored 1340 on the SAT, out of 1600, and 34 on the ACT, out of 36. I was involved in journalism, photography, French club, dance, track and field, and various volunteer-oriented clubs.

...I hold a MA in Physics and Ph.D in Physics and Applied Math. During years 1989-1995 I was a research faculty at the Electrical Engineering Department of the the University of Washington, Seattle, WA. Later on I worked as a Principal Scientist in the field of Optics, Optical Communications, Laser Optics and Defense.
