...Thank you for your time. I've taken an advanced linear algebra and basic functional analysis class with Lorenzo Sadun at UT Austin and gotten an A. The lowest score I got on any subsection of the course was a 94%, if I remember correctly.

...In that time, I have helped students of various levels earn higher marks in philosophy, writing, and English literature. I typically approach the art of tutoring Socratically; that is, by asking questions fashioned to elicit original thoughts from the student. However, in my experience, I sometimes find it necessary to explain principles and/or themes before getting down to the details.

...Students learned how to calculate determinants of square matrices. Students then learned an alternate way to solve systems of linear equations with the use of determinants--this is also known as Cramer's Rule. The next part of the course was spent on defining the concept of span and whether or not two or more sets of vectors could be considered to span a vector space.
