I'm a history teacher at Montgomery College and a PhD student at Catholic University. I've always loved learning about history and literature, and I hope to impart to my students how terrific the humanities are. As both a graduate student and an instructor, I've written and graded more papers than I can count, providing me with considerable expertise in the mechanics of writing.

...My basic methodology involves getting students to see patterns in the material we are using and have students apply that insight. This is essentially how verb tenses are learned in any language. I also usually place a strong emphasis on having students hear what they are reading or working with in written format.

...In my sessions, we follow an agenda: diagnose the problem, test the student's learning, review the answer, and repeat. We spend more time applying skills and less time doing boring stuff that doesn't enhance learning. In the past, I have typically worked with high school students and college freshmen but can work with any level if it is within my knowledge area.
