...As far as tutoring, I have tutored ESL students in English and I have tutored children in English from Kindergarten to High School. Also,I received a Fellowship to the University of Chicago for being picked as one of the best English teachers in Chicago. I have also worked in the private sector as a Computer Trainer for the Microsoft Software programs.

...I then worked as an English assistant to English teachers in 2 high schools in Tokyo. During my time there, I met my husband, was married and our first child was born. I went to Japan as a single woman, and returned to New York 4 and 1/2 years later as a wife and a mother.

I am a teacher, plain and simple. I tried teaching in public schools, but there was far too much policing and politics, and not nearly enough teaching for me. I work best in small environments, one-on-one or in small groups.

...When helping students prepare for standardized tests I ask them to first take a pre-assessment to analyze their strengths and weaknesses. Then I tailor their lessons to use their strengths to address their weaknesses. I have found that this quickly improves performance.
