...I will try to use a visual and hands on examples to enhance the understanding of processes that have taken millions upon millions of years to complete. Sometimes, the simplest example can cause one to understand something that a book and "pretty pictures" can't convey. For an example, plate tectonics can be simply shown by using a tarp or sheet and applying tension and slack to the edges.

...You see, I suffered a severe hearing loss at the age of five because of a childhood disease, that affected my auditory nerve. My hearing loss went undetected until I was in third grade at eight years of age. This is because I had learned to lip read on my own.
