...I have a year left in college but chose to allow my husband to put his education and career in front (CPA) in order to have children while we have the energy to do so. So here I am with vast amounts of knowledge, an eagerness to learn and educate, and no outlet! I have either been in school or nannying for the past 6 years and believe the combination of the two make me an ideal tutor.

...If a teacher or tutor creates an environment where the student is "allowed" to learn, the results quickly change. This is not soft, lese faire approach. It does require that the work be done and learning happen, however, my techniques involve bringing out the learning rather than inculcating it on the child.
