...Besides engineering I wanted to be a teacher so I've always tutored on the side to help students/peers specifically excelling in math courses. Seeing my students succeed is better than any problem solving I can service during my regular job. I've been tutoring ever since I was a sophomore in high school so that gives me about 8 years of experience.

...All there is to do is find that "ah-ha" way, and presto - the other ways make sense too. I find that practical methods work best. Not just answering questions for the sake of getting the right answer, but figuring out how the topic can be applied in real life.

...Science involves a lot of math, and as a degreed professional engineer, I have been regularly involved in using science in real-world situations. In recent years, I've founded a small software company. As such, I'm a proficient computer programmer with Visual Basic, PHP, HTML and javascript, and have a fairly good grasp on MSSQL and MySQL database query languages.

A plus is that I have experience with Geometer Sketchpad software and Graphing Calculators.
