...I took two semesters of C++ in college and received an A in both courses. We used the book "Starting Out with C++ - early objects (sixth edition)" by Gaddis, Walters, and Muganda. I've also programmed in C (and python) for a graduate level mathematical physics course covering numerical simulation, Fourier transforms, etc.
