I've been teaching or tutoring for over twenty years in some form or another. For me the reward from tutoring is when I see that a student has caught onto an idea, when the light bulb goes on. In my career I've not only studied physics, mathematics and statistics, but applied them as well as time management and study skills.

...I never talk down to my students because I have tremendous respect for people trying to take control of their own lives. Many students have trouble with the SAT Reading section because they do not read for pleasure. While adding reading to a student's daily activities is great, not all students have time.

Teaching is a great way of showing others the knowledge one has obtained throughout the years as well as reinforcing that information for the tutor.
