...Prior to college, I was a Russian linguist in the Army.I have tutored students of Spanish for friends and family and would like to share my knowledge by being a part of Wyzant. I have a passion for foreign languages, the English language, reading, grammar and overall learning. Learning should be fun for students, especially the younger ones.

...I have had Belgian, Swiss and Japanese live-in exchange students. All spoke English but through our conversations were able to improve their ability to speak more smoothly and understand American idioms. I tutored children in grades K-5 for the past two years in literacy.

Portuguese is a very elegant and beautiful language. I have recently lived in Brazil for two years and I have learned Portuguese by living and talking to people on the streets. I am street smart in the Portuguese language and I can teach the way they actually speak in Brazil.
