...With unknowns ("x" and/or "y"), there are many ways to approach a problem. When a student is struggling, I like to use a simple approach. Taking a basic problem like "3X + 6 = 12", for example, narrow down what a possible answer could be.

...I also enjoy the fact that as complicated as calculus is mathematically, many of its concepts and theorems are intuitively clear, such as continuity & differentiability, IVT, MVT, extrema, and some infinite series tests. These aid in teaching to students. Although I truly love all math subjects I have studied, in many ways geometry is my favorite high school math subject.
