...I live in Jersey City, and spent time teaching in Phoenix, Arizona, with Teach For America. I've taught 6th grade through 12th grade, primarily in Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, and Geometry. Additionally, I have spent some time teaching teaching Middle School Special Education, primarily working with students with specific learning disabilities, such as dyslexia and dyscalculia.

...This is what science should be, looking at real world problems and relating it to what is going on with the curriculum. Relating science to something that the students already know and understand often solidifies a lesson. As a tutor it would be my job to find that relationship and make those connections that aren't necessarily made in the classroom.
