...I've worked at FIU's learning center offering help for a broad range of math levels and I spent a year providing specialized tutoring for Calculus 3. I tutor FCAT/SAT/College Prep etc. as well as ANY grade school level math and ANY college level math. I have experience helping both younger children and young adults grasp even the most abstract mathematical concepts.

...I call this the "black box" effect, because one cannot see inside a black box so one does not know how it works. Similarly, if a student does not understand how an algebraic tool works, he or she is forced to memorize how to use it. If the student learns how it works, no memorization is needed.
