I'm just finishing up my PhD in organic chemistry at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. I have a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Illinois Wesleyan University where I graduated magna cum laude. I have been tutoring students since high school and in college I worked as a tutor and also a teaching assistant for various chemistry classes and labs.

...My success rate in this course is rather high; I consider it among my best subjects to tutor. I tutor trigonometry and have done so for many years. My teaching methodology for this course is very similar to that for pre-calculus (many of the trigonometry topics covered are also very similar). The only difference is that such topics as sequences, series, and conic sections are not covered.

...My approach is to teach the students how to be more confident in their problem solving skills, so that they don't need me anymore. I expect the students to participate in the lessons, hopefully they would be doing most of the talking. I might assign some homework every once and a while.
