...I have worked as a private tutor for 5 years in a variety of subjects. I am very patient and believe in teaching by example. My general teaching strategy is the following: I generally cover the topic, then explain in detail, make the student do some problems or write depending on the subject, and finally I make them explain and teach the topic back to me.

...The first thing to learn as a study skill is just to be able to sit down and study for a significant period of time. Then, the student can focus on understanding, remembering and practicing application. Public speaking is both a skill and and art.
