Students often need to be retaught what was not learned previously with an experienced and patient teacher. I have had great results with my previous students on a one on one basis, I even have had students improving gradually their grade from a F to an A.

Hi, my name is Kathy and I started tutoring in Florida International University in 2011 for the Multicultural Program at FIU. I mostly tutor in chemistry since I am a chemistry major, but I have also helped students in other subjects. I want my students to like the subject they are taking and actually understand it.

...I've worked at FIU's learning center offering help for a broad range of math levels and I spent a year providing specialized tutoring for Calculus 3. I tutor FCAT/SAT/College Prep etc. as well as ANY grade school level math and ANY college level math. I have experience helping both younger children and young adults grasp even the most abstract mathematical concepts.

...I am currently tutoring at my former high school under the supervision of my former high school teacher, for those that will be taking the AP calculus AB & BC exams. This year alone, of the eight students I was tutoring, two of them got 5's, two got 4's, and one student received a 3. These students are friends of mine from when I was in high school.

...I explain what they do wrong and what they do not know, then I send them home with specific sets of problems to work out before the next session. I scored well on the GRE and I know I can be helpful to someone who needs to improve on the quantitative section. I may also be of some help on the verbal.
