...In some ways, I am still a child inside and feel like I understand their ways. I'm an aspiring filmmaker who has worked on several films, including a short film that I wrote. This is a passion of mine, but it doesn't yet pay the bills.

...I was a flutist in my elementary school band from fourth to sixth grade. I was first chair flute in my middle school concert band as an eighth grader. I was a member of the Glendale Unified School District concert band both years of middle school and was principal flutist of the Glendale Unified School District symphony orchestra as an eighth grader.

...Perhaps most importantly, I've been told I am very empathetic. I am a product of public K-12 education and understand where kids are coming from who attend those schools. I also know that, particularly in math and the hard sciences, much of my work will be confidence building and challenging the negative self-talk about "not being a math person".
