...The first is solving systems of linear equations. Simple cases of systems of linear equations (on the order of x+y=7, 2x-y=2) are typically covered in high school algebra and can be solved without difficulty. Once a third variable (and a corresponding third equation) get added to the mix the problem becomes much harder.
