My students are ones who always want to learn after they've been to my class a few times because it's fun, encouraging and rewarding.

...If you have a teen who has struggled with math for years and remains stuck in the "basic" math classes, I can help with this too. I use the same approach of retraining their homework/study habits and build a plan with them that they can take ownership in. This plan becomes their plan in which they realize, they can do better in math and work toward being in the "higher" math classes.
