...I came to tutoring through my studies with my classmates during my first year in college. Whenever we would have study sessions, I would always take charge and lead our discussions, and I felt it came naturally to me. In my sessions I hope to challenge students to think critically about the subject matter, rather than straight memorization of facts.

...It makes for much more meaningful learning when lessons are related to what they currently know. I often utilize educational games and colorful flashcards to keep my students engaged. I also take time to truly get to know my students' likes and dislikes about school to help design tutoring sessions that will increase their desire to learn and succeed.
