I have been teaching math for 43 years. During the summers I am an AP Reader for the Calculus AP test. I have taught AP Calculus AB & BC and AP Statistics, also Dual Credit Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, College Algebra, Calculus I & II.

...When force is applied and the child's nose is forced to the grindstone, the desired effect is seldom achieved. If a teacher or tutor creates an environment where the student is "allowed" to learn, the results quickly change. This is not soft, lese faire approach.
