...I have literally thousands of hours of tutoring and helping students of all ages in learning these basics. I have been successfully working as a tutor for the past 5 years with a variety of children in grade school with good feedback. I found my experience as a research scientist fascinated the kids which created an environment which they wanted to be in.

...And knowing about grammar offers a window into the human mind and into our amazingly complex mental capacity. People associate grammar with errors and correctness. But knowing about grammar also helps us understand what makes sentences and paragraphs clear and interesting and precise.

I am a retired medical doctor, having practiced family medicine for about three decades. Since retiring I have tutored small groups of junior high and high school students in the Puyallup AVID program. I have also tutored several students one on one in their homes.
