...By letting the student know how the knowledge will improve them you create a real desire for the student to learn the subject. Make it fun by allowing the student to suggest how they will be able to use the knowledge and then applying it to that and several similar situations. I taught for 7 years at the University of Portland before moving to Seattle for a better paying teaching position.
