...I am still working with her - she will graduate this December. As far as hands-on experience with the TAKS test goes, I worked for a brief time (about a year) with the Houston Independent School District in the Research and Accountability department. One of my duties there was to look for evidence of TAKS cheating by 3rd and 5th graders.

I am retired after 15 years as Dean of Education at a private special purpose school that made the learning experience as diverse in access as the learners in attendance. This means I really know kids are special and all have different learning styles.

...Some of the topics covered in the course were: solving multiple systems of linear equations, spaces and subspaces, span, matrices, determinants, fundamental theory of linear algebra, logical proofs, eigenvalues, and eigenvectors. To go into a little more detail, the first part of the class consisted of solving systems of linear equations. Systems were solved first using Gaussian elimination.
