...As a tutor with a learning disability, I know that public school can be incredibly frustrating if you haven't received adequate help, but I also know that an empathetic tutor can make a world of difference in the way they look at their education. I've been working with Dyslexic students for 4 years now as a peer tutor. In my experience, patience on the part of the tutor is the best approach.

...I have a K-6 license in Elementary Education from Minnesota, and a California Multi Subject Credential which allows me to teach in a K-6 classroom. I hold a Multi Subject credential which includes teaching grades kindergarten through second. In these grades many students are still learning the basic fundamentals of reading and writing, which is phonics.

...I also can help students with SAT prep, as I recently took it myself and know the best ways to study, and what to focus on. When I tutor children, I try to find the best way they learn. If they are visual learners, for example, I would use pictures and flashcards.
