...I have been teaching science for the past five years. I teach because I enjoy helping students overcome their challenges and reach their goals. I especially enjoy working with students one-on-on so I have the opportunity to tailor the lesson or explanation to a student's own strengths and background.

I love sharing my enthusiasm for science and learning with others. I have spent several years teaching students of all levels from pre-K through medical on science specific topics. I believe that it is important to really understand the material to build confidence and I work towards this goal when teaching any student.

I have a PhD in Biology from UMBC and have taught various undergraduate-level biology courses at community colleges and four year universities alike. I feel that I excel at simplifying difficult concepts and helping students not just memorize facts... but truly understand concepts.Biology to me is more than a collection of facts to be memorized.
