...From 1974 through 2000, I was a professor of Classics at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. I taught courses at all levels of ancient Greek. Classics journals have published many articles that I wrote on aspects of ancient Greek literature.

...Latin is the root of all Romance languages so with Latin you can understand French and Italian and Spanish better and faster! I grew up in Europe and took Latin in high school and college. It helped greatly for French poetry and the study of linguistics.
