This comes from learning about the student and helping them excel by explaining many of the difficult concepts in their own terms. The logic and analytic skills learned in geometry can be immensely helpful in humanities courses as well, and I try to put problems in this highly relevant context. Reading skills are perhaps the most important ones to master at an early age.

...I think this is very important for tutoring, because I can transmit my fascination to students with amazing facts and wonderful bits of information. It's sure to spark a love for astronomy. My expertise in statistics includes a couple of college courses I had to take for my degree in Math, as well as the knowledge I have gained from having tutored some people in this subject.

...I have been tutoring for 6 years and have helped over a hundred students get better grades. In fact, the lowest grade any of my regular private students has received was a B+. I have helped a lot of students on their math section of the SATs. Generally speaking, my students average an increase of around 100-150 points on their math section alone.
