...I love to teach physics, both the physics majors and also to people who just like science or have an interest in learning. Part of my time is devoted to research in high energy physics, such as the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. Teaching runs in my family and I often work with my own kids, especially in science and math.

...I don't like to give up, and I don't give up on any of my students. I find that encouragement, supportive commentary, and praise are all essential and useful in the learning process, as it helps maintain the student's self esteem and also keeps them motivated and interested in the subjects. I have worked with students of many ages with many different aims.

...I thoroughly enjoy tutoring students on Algebra 2, which comes up fairly often on the ACT - including those occasionally annoying logarithms! With practice, I find students become particularly good at those, along with the more enjoyable, conceptual aspects of Algebra 2. Developing vocabulary is a vitally important component in developing critical reading.
